Edge 1909 is a multi-unit apartment building situated along the Allegheny River in the Strip District Neighborhood of Pittsburgh. It was built by the NRP Group from Cleveland Ohio, widely recognized as a premier multi-unit home developer. Two years of design development with Philadelphia architect JDavis resulted in a refined program of communal use spaces, interior and exterior. Civil site engineering was executed by PVE of Sewickley, PA. The build out took another two years, and PVE provided the site construction administration.

The length of the building is in excess of 300’ and almost feels like two separate buildings with respective courtyards containing an array of communal amenities: olympic size lap pool, multiple outdoor kitchens, custom bar, lounge and entertainment spaces, fireplace, custom oversized fire pit, trellis structures, bocce court, and fountain. The landscape architecture design consisted of two courtyards, a dog park, a public plaza, and a public bike trail, lighting, and landscaping, and included detailed custom construction and a carefully selected material palette.
